This particular hiking vacation in France is in the Burgundy region and takes you on a memorial walking tour from Chablis to Vezelay. This hiking tour is available as a self guided walking holiday. This walking tour leads you on the more important sightseeing and cities of North Burgundy, you will visit Auxerre and its Saint Etienne Cathedral, Chablis and its Grands Crus, Arcy-sur-Cure and its prehistoric caves, Vézelay and its Sainte Madeleine Basilika, stopover on the road to Compostella. Not forgetting you are also in Chablis one of Frances premier wine regions so nice food and wine is a must.

Day 1 – Arrival
Arrival during the afternoon in Auxerre. Welcome meeting at your 3-star hotel, by our local guide, and explanation of the tour , road-book, maps , Dinner and Night in Auxerre
Day 2 - Auxerre – Chablis 15 miles 24 KM
After the breakfast, you start the walking tour and start to discover the Vineyards of Côtes d’Auxerre with Saint-Bris then Chitry and Chablis. People will appreciate the beautiful view on the Yonne valley, nice villages like Saint-Bris and Chitry with roman churches. Dinner and Overnight in Chablis 3 star Hotel
Day 3 – Chablis - Nitry 16 miles 26
After the breakfast, first visit Chablis with its Saint-Martin and Saint-Pierre Churches and le petit Pontigny. Afterwards continue your walking tour through the Chablis Grand Cru, Les Clos, Les Grenouilles, Les Preuses, then continue on to Nitry. Dinner and Overnight in Nitry 2 star Hotel
Day 4 – Nitry-Voutenay sur Cure 11 miles 18 Km
After the breakfast, your walk takes you through nice country side passing Sacy, le Val du Puits, Précy le sec and Voutenay sur Cure. The Cure river is a famous prehistoric area. Dinner and Overnight in Voutenay 2 star Hotel
Day 5 – Voutenay sur Cure – Vézelay 10 miles 16 Km
After the breakfast departure to Vézelay, walking along the Cure River to Vézelay. Free time in Vézelay in order to discover La Colline Eternelle, the very nice village and the Ste Madeleine Basilica. Dinner and Overnight in Vézelay 3 star Hotel
Day 6 – Departure
After the breakfast, transfer to Avallon Station with a taxi in order to take the train to Auxerre.
